If you wish to be deployed to the Hurricane Katrina disaster site or assist with local disasters, you are required to take the Introduction to Disaster Services and Mass Care / Shelter Operations class. You must attend an 8-hour "fast-track" disaster training class and commit to volunteering a minimum of nine days at the disaster site for national disasters.
