An Evening in Honor of Jacques Derrida ~ Free

An Evening in Honor of Jacques Derrida
Thursday, Oct 6, 2005, 7:30 P.M.
Leo S. Bing Theater, LACMA, Modern and Contemporary Art Building, Plaza Level, LACMA East

The film Derrida will be shown, followed by a discussion with filmmakers Amy Ziering Kofman and Kirby Dick; moderated by Claudine Mulard, Los Angeles correspondent for Le Monde.

Derrida is a witty and complex award-winning cinematic portrait of the life and work of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, founder of "deconstruction" and one of the most brilliant and influential thinkers of our time. The film was hailed by critics as "playful," "profound," and "bewitching" (The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Rolling Stone) and cited as "one of the ten best films of 2002" (Village Voice).
